Do you know how your employees would describe your company culture? What about your organization makes people excited about doing business with you? The overall culture of your workplace is a critical part of your success, so how can you be sure it stays top of mind in a positive way all year long, including the end of summer? Here are a few ways you can polish up your company culture to make it bright and shiny as we head toward fall.

Ask for Employee Feedback

If you feel like your company culture needs to refresh, go right to the source. Your employees experience your company culture first hand every day. Talk to them about what they like and don’t like about working with your organization. Then work on making positive changes to improve their overall experience on the job. They will be happy to help with this process.

Use the Data You Gather

Your company is constantly collecting data. It’s just a byproduct of today’s digitally connected world. Beyond just the employee feedback, take other data into consideration when you’re improving things in the office. For example, what are people saying about your company on Twitter? Can you make changes that will positively affect your reputation?

Encourage Collaboration

Long gone are the days when office relationships were highly competitive. Today’s employees are far more interested in collaboration, and companies can use this to their advantage. Encourage your employees to work together on projects to use their individual strengths to accomplish an overall task. Give them the tools they need to partner up with other people in the office who complement their skills.

Don’t Tolerate Negative Behavior

Negative behavior takes on a lot of forms. Some people like to complain for the sake of complaining. If you hear someone doing that, encourage them to consider the solutions to their problems. If someone is engaging in destructive behavior, such as bullying, make sure your company has a zero-tolerance policy.
